The last five psalms begin and end with exactly the same line: “Praise the Lord.” In point of fact, the entire book has been leading to this crescendo of praise culminating in chapter 150 with every line calling for raucous worship.
Psalm 146 calls for praise for what God does for the weak. Psalm 147 calls for praise because of God’s greatness. Psalm 148 encourages praise from every created thing in heaven and on earth.
Psalm 148 reminds us all that the world’s orderliness is due to God’s hand and that same hand makes special provision for God’s people. We have much to rejoice about.
